Report: Kyocera Solar, Inc. Introduces New Solar-Powered DC Pump Lines |
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona (June 26, 2002) – Kyocera Solar, Inc., a leader in solar-powered water pumping products, today introduced two new lines of solar-powered submersible DC pumps and pump systems for needs ranging from potable water to crop irrigation and livestock watering. Diaphragm Pumps Centrifugal Pumps All Kyocera pump systems include Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) controllers for unprecedented efficiency. By ensuring the optimal voltage/current combination at all times, these controllers maximize available power to the pump -- increasing the volume of water moved “per watt” and extending daylight operating times. As a result, many pumping needs can be served with just one solar PV module. All Kyocera pump systems also feature a corrosion-resistant water sensor (sold separately as the Kyocera model SS-100) which senses the absence of water and helps prevent internal damage by ensuring that the pump does not run dry. “This new line of pumps is simple to specify, highly efficient, robust, and easy to maintain,” commented Rob Collins, Manager of Research and Development, Kyocera Solar, Inc. “Collectively, they represent the absolute ‘state of the art’ in solar-powered water pumping.” Kyocera pumps and pump systems are sold exclusively through a network of Kyocera-authorized dealers and contractors. The company supports its customers by providing technical training sessions throughout the United States. For more information, call 800-544-6466 ext. 7822.
